Southern Lakes / Central Otago

Queenstown is New Zealand's adventure capital. The resort town is known for it's extreme sports such as bungee jumping, jet boat rides and white water rafting however there are so many more things to see and do that keep the blood pressure at normal levels. The SS Earnslaw runs from Queenstown wharf to Walter Peak Station. Travel onboard this stunning vessel to the beautiful, working, high country sheep station Walter Peak. There is a superb buffet lunch or dinner as well as farm demonstrations, farm tours and horse trekking.

The historic gold mining town of Arrowtown is always worth visiting. It's unique range of stores in Buckingham Street make it a delightful setting to explore, try local cuisine or gold panning in the Arrow River.

Gibbston Valley and Central Otago are world famous areas for producing some of New Zealand's best wine, in particular Pinot Noir. Bring or hire a bike (or electric bike) and try one of the numerous rail or cycle trails. There are over 300kms of cycle track in the region. Try the new Dunstan Trail, Around the Mountains or the Central Otago Rail Trail. Have a round or two of golf at a couple of the stunning local courses or treat yourself to a round at one of the world class courses in the area such as Jack's Point or Millbrook.

We visit the Southern Lakes on our Taste of the South and Southern Highlights Tours, with the latter going through Cromwell before heading on to Haast and the West Coast. We can also create memorable getaway breaks or holidays to include this area in your itinerary.

Private guided tours are also available.

We have stunning, handpicked, accommodation with hosts who will look after you superbly, wine tasting and more.
